Chicago History Museum
"Out at CHM" committee member
2009 to present

I am currently serving on this volunteer committee that advises the Chicago History Museum on public programs, exhibitions, and other projects related to the history of Chicago's LGBT community.

Along with Russell Lewis, VP and Chief Curator at the Chicago History Museum, I co-organized "Art, AIDS, and Activism in Chicago" a public program held on March 3, 2017, that explored how art was--and is--used to speak out about the AIDS pandemic, advocate for its victims, and critique public response to this health crisis.

One important milestone of the committee was the opening of
Out in Chicago a pioneering public exhibition chronicling over 150 years of Chicago's LBGT history (June 2011—March 2012).
